The location of the collection equipment matters.

When a vacuum or filtration machine exhausts inside the home, the air passing through that machine is ultimately returned to the indoor environment. Although filters may capture a significant amount of debris, the process still depends heavily on the condition, efficiency, and sealing of the filtration system.

An exterior negative air setup provides an additional level of containment. The contaminated air removed from the duct system is discharged outside rather than recirculated within the living space.

In simple terms, the material is not merely moved, filtered, or redistributed. It is removed from the home.

How True Source Removal Works

During a negative-air cleaning, the duct system is placed under strong, controlled suction. Supply and return openings are sealed so airflow can be concentrated within the section being cleaned.

Specialized agitation tools are then used to dislodge contamination from the interior surfaces of the ductwork. These tools may include compressed-air whips, skipper balls, rotary brushes, and other professional duct-cleaning equipment.

As the debris is loosened, the negative air machine captures it and transports it through the collection hose to the equipment located outside.

This combination of mechanical agitation and continuous negative pressure is essential. Suction alone may not remove material that has adhered to the duct surfaces, while agitation without proper containment can allow dust to become airborne or migrate into other areas of the system.
